Medical Assistant, Occupational Health at Ashtabula County Medical Center – Ashtabula, Ohio

General Summary

Perform a variety of patient care services for Occupational Health clients, under the direction of and in conjunction with the Director, Nurse Practitioner, and/or Medical Director.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

· Detail-oriented and analytical, strong organizational and planning skills

· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with individuals at all educational and socioeconomic levels

· Proficient computer skills, including ability to learn new systems/software

· Understanding of medical terminology, with special emphasis on Occupational Health

Required Length/Type of Experience

· A minimum of three years of experience, preferably in an outpatient setting.

Required Education/Licensure/Certification

· Certification from a Medical Assistant program

· Maintain required certifications, such as chain of custody for urine drug screen, spirometry, audiometric testing

Required Physical and Environmental Demands

· Ability to lift 20 pounds

· Must be flexible and adaptable to various environments

· Able to sit and stand for extended periods of time
