DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
- The primary function of the North Adams Regional Hospital Safety & Security Supervisor is to oversee the daily activities & flow of NARH's Safety & Security Department. The Safety and Security Supervisor must monitor and maintain compliance with departmental and organizational standards. The Safety and Security Supervisor specifically runs the operation of the day shift, coordinates communication to other officers through the lead guards and responds to any unexpected occurrence that requires immediate attention. The Safety and Security Supervisor also must function as a Safety and Security Guard when necessary.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)

Experience:
- 1 Year supervisory experience in Safety & Security strongly preferred.

3 Years’ experience in any of the following:
- Corrections.
- Law Enforcement.
- Armed Forces.
- Healthcare Safety & Security.
- Behavioral Health.

Education and Training:
- High School Diploma.
- Must complete and comply with all mandatory Hospital, JCAHO and Department education and Training/Competency requirements.

License, Certification & Registration:
- DRIVER - Driver's License
- Must become certified as a de-escalation Instructor within 6 months of hire.
- De-escalation Training
- CPR

Other Requirements:
- Ability to speak read and write the English language in an understandable manner.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Strong verbal communication and documentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
