Laborer, Casting Sorter (2nd Shift) in Kingsford, Michigan at Iron Mountain Foundry LLC

Sort and remove castings from shakeout conveyor using mechanical grappler and place in appropriate containers. Perform all tasks with safety and quality in mind and in accordance with established procedures and process instructions. Take necessary action to minimize delay time and maximize production. Physical demands are higher in this job position due to heat, the movement of castings of various weight and standing during shift.

Duties:

• Operate grappler to remove castings and gating from shakeout conveyor and segregate into proper location or containers.
• Notify supervisor of any quality, mechanical or delay problems and take corrective action, as necessary.
• Notify fork truck driver of any special casting routing, as necessary.
• Complete daily routing, equipment inspection, delay, scrap and other forms. Perform daily process control audits.
• Utilize delay time constructively by doing housekeeping or other area improvement activities.
• Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner.

• Steel-Toe Boots
• Use of proper PPE
• Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 5:00pm-03:30am (training period required)
