About This Position

The Jefferson, Washington DC is currently recruiting for a Catering Sales Manager to join the team at our award-winning hotel.

The Jefferson, Washington D.C. has been named one of the top hotels in Washington, D.C. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is interested in growing within a hospitality setting that finds delight in the details that take our guests experience beyond expectation.

Job Summary: The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for soliciting, booking, planning, and coordinating the details of meetings and functions while maximizing the banquet space to meet and exceed catering sales goals. This individual must be a strong team player working with the sales team to ensure a seamless operation of events.

Responsibilities include:

  • Selling and servicing events and group meetings with Food & Beverage requirements
  • Finalize catering agreements, generate and conduct BEO meetings, and distribute & update change logs
  • Update budgets and forecasting, participate in annual menu reviews
  • Maintain a working knowledge of culinary techniques, food creativity, and banquet set ups/room décor
  • Develop and maintain excellent client relationships, both internal and external
  • Coordinates with all members of the sales team to ensure all client needs and expectations are met
  • Attend weekly sales, BEO, and resume meetings

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, minimum of 2 years of social catering or sales experience
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends to service events
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and group leadership skills
  • Ability to work within the guidelines, policies and objectives of the Hotel and be accountable for specific projects as assigned
  • Knowledgeable of hotel technology (Opera, Amadeus, Microsoft Office Systems)
  • Previous relevant background in the hospitality industry
  • Experience with system implementations and process improvements preferred
