Crouse’s Outpatient Addiction Treatment at Erie Blvd. provides a comprehensive system of assessment and treatment services for individuals with substance-use disorders by integrating physical, mental and spiritual healthcare practices for patients and families. The Addiction Treatment team is hiring a Certified Peer Recovery Advocate.
Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.15 / hour
Schedule: Part Time-20 hours/week. Tuesday-Friday, 8:00am-1:00pm.
Certified Peer Recovery Advocate Position Responsibilities:
- Maintains project logs, reports, and records in appropriate files and databases.
- Work with grant program coordinator to collect data to meet grant reporting requirements.
- Provides recovery education to service recipients for every phase of the recovery journey from pre-recovery engagement, recovery initiation, recovery stabilization and sustained recovery maintenance.
- Develops relationships with referral sources to ensure interactions which will promote that patient’s recovery; participates in joint treatment planning as appropriate.
- Support participants within the treatment setting and outside the treatment setting.
- Presents cases for supervision; responds to input and direction of supervisor (and Medical Director if appropriate).
- Consult with Supervisor concerning medical and psychiatric emergencies; follows written policies, consults with Psychologist and Psychiatrist as needed.
- Maintains standards of Professional conduct and adheres to the Canon of Ethics for Addiction Professionals.
- Maintain production as required. Clinical Documentation is completed within regulatory standards and good professional practice.
- Provides a model for both people in recovery and staff by demonstrating that recovery is possible.
- Assists recovering persons to identify their personal interests, goals, strengths and weaknesses regarding recovery.
- Assists recovering persons in developing their own path for advancing their recovery.
- Recovery Wellness Planning through facilitating transition from a professionally directed plan to a self-directed recovery plan.
- Promotes self-advocacy by assisting persons to have their voices fully heard.
- Supports connections to community bases supports, mutual self-help groups. Link individuals to appropriate professional resources.
- Develops relationships with community agencies.
- Collaborates with the CD multi-disciplinary treatment team.
- Patient transportation responsibilities.
- Attends meetings with the community to discuss recovery initiatives.
Certified Recovery Peer Advocate Position Requirements:
- High school Diploma or GED
- Hold a NYS Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA), provisional certifications will be considered.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License required.
- Experience at coordinating services for or on behalf of other individuals.
- Must have working knowledge of the substance abuse treatment systems, support services and a demonstrated commitment to the Recovery Community
