About This Position

Tri City Family Services (TCFS), a trusted community nonprofit providing mental health counseling and support to individuals and families, is seeking a Clinical Supervisor. If you’re passionate about mental health and ready to lead a caring team, we want to hear from you.

The Clinical Supervisor serves as an integral member of the agency's clinical staff team, providing supervisory support to the Clinical Director(s). In this role, the Clinical Supervisor leads quality assurance efforts and conducts utilization reviews of clinical work to ensure the highest standards of care and compliance are maintained. Additionally, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for delivering a wide range of clinical services to agency clientele including EAP services.

  • Supports the Clinical Director(s) by providing clinical supervision to full-time and part-time staff, assisting with ongoing staff training on Medicaid rules and related procedures, and aiding in audits conducted by external bodies such as the Department of Mental Health (DMH), Bureau of Accreditation/Licensure and Certification, and the Council on Accreditation.
  • Conducts mental health assessments and provides counseling and therapy services to individuals, couples, families, and groups. Additionally, delivers Employee Assistance Program (EAP) assessments, referrals, and linkage services to employees of EAP client companies.
  • Oversees the preparation and submission of Quality Assurance reports while maintaining accurate and timely clinical and statistical documentation. Assumes responsibility for maintaining the agency’s Utilization Review Team (URT) process, including developing necessary paperwork and procedures.
  • Respond to community requests for presentations or training, develop customized training programs to meet organizational needs, and deliver professional presentations. Also provides internal agency training sessions as assigned by the Clinical Director(s).
  • Represents the agency at community networking meetings to promote services and foster relationships.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, encourage personal growth, and inspire a group of individuals.

  • Demonstrate solid knowledge of Family Systems Theory and other evidence-based approaches, effectively engaging with multi-problem individuals and families. Excellent communication and facilitation skills, building rapport with participants and encouraging teamwork and cooperation.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed individual.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Sound knowledge of DSM V-TR, mental health assessment, treatment, and behavioral health crisis intervention methods.
  • Must be comfortable using computers, electronic medical records (EMRs), and telehealth platforms. Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies as needed.
  • Working knowledge of the behavioral dynamics of individuals, groups, and family systems theory.

Education and Experience

A master’s degree in a mental health discipline and at least two (2) years post-clinical licensure, supervisory experience in a mental health setting are required, along with active licensure in the State of Illinois (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT). Strong social work/case management skills and familiarity with Illinois Medicaid Rules 132 and Rule 140, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) experience.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $70,000-$77,000 depending on experience.
  • Sign-on bonus: $2,500
