🧩 Position Overview:
As an Individual Support Provider, you’ll play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental challenges to thrive in their communities. You’ll deliver compassionate, personalized assistance that promotes independence, enhances life skills, and encourages social participation.
📍 Location: Norwich, CT
🕒 Employment Type: Part-time, hourly, non-exempt
💵 Starting Rate: $19.00/hour
📋 Reports To: Case Manager, Supervising Case Manager
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–2 years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors
- Valid CT driver’s license, personal vehicle, and car insurance
- Clear background check
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment
- Post-secondary education in special education, psychology, social work, or related field
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and person-centered planning
- Experience with IEPs or individualized support plans
- Bilingual or experience working with diverse cultural communities
- Provide one-on-one support based on personalized plans, focusing on skill-building, daily living, and social engagement
- Supervise individuals at job sites and during community activities
- Transport individuals safely using personal vehicle
- Collaborate with families, educators, and professionals to adjust support strategies
- Document progress and challenges accurately
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment
- Assist with self-care activities and emergency interventions when necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned
