About This Position
Kerr Controls Ltd. (Kerr) is a leading distributor of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration Equipment and Supplies. We have an immediate opening for a dynamic, dedicated and highly motivated Payroll Administrator to join our head office team in Truro, NS. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while supporting employees with payroll-related inquiries
Responsibilities:
• Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time
• Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive payroll records, ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations
• Process payroll adjustments, deductions, and garnishments
• Prepare payroll reports for management and accounting purposes
• Respond to employee questions regarding pay and deductions
• Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure smooth payroll operations
• Process and pay weekly employee expense reports
• Administer employee group benefit plans, including accurate and timely enrollments and terminations, while also responding to employee questions
Qualifications:
• Experience with payroll processing, ideally in a multi-divisional environment
• Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and employment standards
• Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
• A positive, customer-focused attitude
