Job Description

A working leadership role responsible for directing, supervising and coordinating the activities, operations and maintenance of the street system, sanitary storm drain system and snow removal for the City.


  • Maintaining the city street system, sanitary storm drain system, snow removal program and general maintenance duties.
  • Assists in setting up and taking down equipment for various programs, prepares facilities for use.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Graduation from a High School or GED equivalent, experience in asphalt and concrete repairs, traffic signal systems, sanitary storm drain systems or related work.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and experience
  • Valid Driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain a CDL driver’s license Class B with air brakes and tanker endorsement within 60 days of start date.
  • Knowledge of equipment, materials and supplies used in asphalt and concrete; knowledge of equipment and supplies used to do repairs; knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
  • Skill in operation of: motorized equipment—backhoe, front loader, motor grader, mini excavator, dump trucks, trailers, miscellaneous hand and power tools for maintenance, and electrical work.
  • Ability to: work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule; lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions; communicate orally and in writing; use equipment and tools properly and safely; understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions; establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and the public.
