About the Role:
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care within healthcare and social assistance settings. This position is responsible for providing direct nursing care as needed, supervising personal care attendants, and supporting primary health care initiatives to improve patient outcomes. The LVN ensures compliance with Medicaid regulations and billing procedures, maintaining accurate patient records and coordinating care effectively. By utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) and electronic health records (EHR) systems, the LVN facilitates seamless communication among healthcare providers and supports efficient billing and collections processes. Ultimately, the LVN contributes to a culturally competent, patient-centered environment that respects diversity and promotes health equity.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid and current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of TEXAS.
- Proficiency in dual language communication (English and Spanish).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Medicaid billing, Medicaid regulations, and Medicaid managed care.
- Proficiency in using EMR and EHR systems for documentation and patient record management.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and patient privacy standards.
- Experience in providing direct patient care and assisting with personal care in a healthcare or home care setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or training in cultural competency and effective conflict resolution.
- Experience working within primary health care or community health settings.
- Familiarity with billing and coding procedures beyond Medicaid, including private insurance.
- Additional certifications related to care coordination or case management.
- Experience with billing and collections procedures in healthcare environments.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care and supervision in a community-based setting.

- Support billing and collections procedures to ensure timely reimbursement and financial accuracy.
