Prepared Foods Lead- Eastchester at Green's Natural Foods – Scarsdale, New York

The Prepared Foods Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Prepared Foods department in a fast-paced organic grocery store. This role ensures exceptional food quality, presentation, and customer service while maintaining health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
-Lead and motivate the Prepared Foods team to deliver high-quality food and excellent customer service.
-Ensure all prepared foods meet store standards for freshness, flavor, appearance, and cleanliness.
-Oversee daily food production and ensure proper preparation, portioning, and packaging.
-Maintain proper inventory levels; assist with ordering, receiving, and rotating stock.
-Uphold strict sanitation, food safety, and allergen control procedures in accordance with local health regulations and store policies.
-Provide hands-on training and mentorship to team members.
-Monitor sales trends and adjust production to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
-Work collaboratively with other departments to support store-wide goals and events.
-Handle customer inquiries, special orders, and feedback professionally and promptly.
-Open and close the department as needed, including handling cash drawers and daily reports.

Qualifications:
-2+ years of experience in a commercial kitchen, deli, or prepared foods department; natural or organic foods background preferred.
-1+ year of supervisory or team lead experience.
-Strong knowledge of food safety, handling, and sanitation practices (ServSafe certification a plus).
-Ability to cook from scratch and follow recipes accurately.
-Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
-Passion for organic and natural foods and a commitment to sustainability.
-Able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
-Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
