Director Sales

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director – Sales based in United Kingdom.

We are seeking an experienced sales leader to drive growth across Eastern Europe’s digital banking and financial technology markets. In this high-impact role, you will take full ownership of regional revenue generation, developing and executing go-to-market strategies to expand market presence and acquire new clients. You will lead complex enterprise sales cycles, build strategic relationships with senior banking executives, and identify opportunities to accelerate digital transformation across financial institutions. Working independently, you will collaborate with pre-sales, product, marketing, and partner teams to deliver measurable business outcomes. You will also develop a strong regional ecosystem of system integrators and consulting partners to strengthen market reach. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a strategic growth region, influence business direction, and establish long-term partnerships in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Regional Sales Strategy and Revenue Growth: Own and deliver regional sales targets across Eastern Europe, implementing a structured go-to-market strategy to drive revenue growth, new client acquisition, and strategic account expansion.
  • Pipeline Development and Management: Build and maintain a qualified sales pipeline with disciplined coverage, accurate forecasting, and a consistent focus on achieving commercial objectives.
  • Enterprise Sales Execution: Manage the full enterprise sales cycle, from opportunity identification and qualification through executive engagement, negotiations, and contract execution.
  • Strategic Banking Relationships: Develop trusted relationships with CEOs, CIOs, CDOs, and Heads of Digital at mid-tier banks and financial institutions, positioning digital banking solutions as long-term transformation enablers.
  • Partner Ecosystem Development: Establish and strengthen relationships with regional system integrators, consulting firms, and advisory partners to generate joint opportunities and expand market penetration.
  • Value-Based Selling: Develop compelling, ROI-driven business cases that connect digital banking transformation initiatives with clients’ strategic priorities and measurable business outcomes.
  • Complex Deal Management: Coordinate RFP responses, executive workshops, proof-of-concept engagements, and stakeholder alignment while navigating complex procurement processes and regulatory environments.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with pre-sales, product, marketing, and partner teams to deliver tailored solutions, strengthen sales execution, and maximize customer value.
Requirements:
  • Relevant Professional Experience: At least 10 years of experience in enterprise software, fintech, or technology sales, ideally within digital banking or financial services.
  • Proven Sales Performance: A demonstrated track record of closing complex enterprise technology deals and consistently delivering against ambitious revenue targets.
  • Banking Industry Network: Established relationships within mid-tier banks and financial institutions, particularly in Poland, Romania, Hungary, and Slovakia.
  • Strategic and Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of enterprise sales methodologies, value-based selling, pipeline development, forecasting, and strategic account management.
  • Partner Management Experience: Previous experience building and activating relationships with regional system integrators, consulting firms, or other technology ecosystem partners.
  • Enterprise Deal Leadership: Ability to manage long and complex sales cycles, engage senior decision-makers, develop compelling business cases, and lead negotiations through to contract closure.
  • Communication Skills: Fluency in English is required, while proficiency in relevant regional languages is strongly preferred.
  • Autonomy and Leadership: A commercially disciplined, results-oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently, prioritize opportunities, and build a market presence in a developing region.
  • Collaboration and Influence: Strong interpersonal, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align diverse teams around shared commercial objectives.
Benefits:
  • Competitive Compensation: An attractive, growth-market-oriented compensation structure designed to reward strong commercial performance.
  • Performance-Based Incentives: A results-driven incentive plan linked to sales achievements and revenue generation.
  • Strategic Ownership: The opportunity to build, develop, and shape a high-potential regional market.
  • Global Support: The backing of a globally recognized software group, providing organizational support and resources for regional growth.
  • High Visibility: Significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to make a measurable impact on business expansion.
  • Remote Flexibility: A remote working arrangement, offering flexibility in how you manage your regional responsibilities.
