This role ensures that components integrate into a reliable, testable, and releasable system prior to formal QA validation, supported by objective test evidence and clear risk assessment. The Lead Integration & System Test Engineer serves as the single integration authority, responsible for readiness decisions, gating releases from Engineering into QA, and reducing late-stage integration risk. In this role, you will also mentor engineers and help mature integration and system test practices across the organization.

  • 7+ years of experience in systems integration and test of complex mission critical systems for DoW

  • Demonstrated experience with system-level integration, testing, and test readiness

  • Experience delivering in mission-critical, high-reliability, or regulated environments

  • Experience with software development

  • Experience working in multi-team, multi-component engineering environments

  • Familiarity with Agile development processes and modern CI/CD pipelines

  • United States Citizenship required

Desired Skills

  • Experience leading integration or system test efforts for complex, distributed systems

  • Strong understanding of systems engineering concepts, interfaces, and dependency management

  • Experience with modeling & simulation environments that includes scenario development and their use in testing

  • Experience coordinating test readiness across Engineering, and QA organizations

  • Experience defining or executing formal Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) or equivalent

  • Familiarity with DevQA automation outputs, CI/CD pipelines, and test evidence aggregation

  • Experience working with hardware-in-the-loop or representative system test environments

  • Experience with containerized systems and deployment validation environments (e.g., Kubernetes)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for readiness discussions with senior management and stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Own system-level integration assurance and test readiness prior to formal QA validation

  • Define integration test strategies and develop test plans aligned with system requirements and acceptance criteria

  • Execute or coordinate integration testing across software components and full system builds

  • Aggregate and assess integration test evidence from component teams and DevQA pipelines

  • Ensure traceability between requirements, acceptance criteria, and integration test results

  • Identify system integration defects, cross-component issues, and release risks

  • Develop and execute scenario-based test environments, including simulation-driven workflows

  • Ensure all models used in testing have clearly defined fidelity, assumptions, and limitations

  • Document model constraints and their impact on test validity and release readiness

  • Coordinate defect resolution across engineering teams

  • Conduct formal Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs)

  • Produce clear, auditable readiness assessments with documented risks, limitations, and supporting evidence

  • Serve as the integration authority gating releases from Engineering into QA based on readiness and risk

  • Support QA during formal validation to resolve integration-related issues

  • Continuously improve integration, system test processes, and readiness criteria

  • Mentor junior engineers and review test plans and results

  • Participate in professional development to strengthen technical and leadership skills
