Description:

The Director of Finance is responsible for leading and overseeing all financial operations, accounting functions, and financial strategy initiatives for the company. This role serves as a key business partner to executive leadership, ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and long-term financial planning in support of company growth and profitability.

The company operates as a highly integrated product-focused organization with dedicated Sales, Products, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing departments. The combination of complex manufacturing operations and significant Internal Research & Development (IRAD) investment creates a unique and dynamic financial environment requiring strong strategic, operational, and government contracting expertise. The Director of Finance will play a critical role in helping the organization balance innovation, product development, manufacturing efficiency, and long-term financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all finance and accounting systems, processes, controls, and reporting functions across the organization.
  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute financial strategies that support growth, profitability, cash flow optimization, and operational objectives.
  • Provide financial leadership across a multi-disciplinary organization consisting of Sales, Products, Engineering, QA, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Serve as the primary financial liaison between QRC and Parsons Corporation corporate finance leadership, balancing the strategic objectives of the General Manager with parent-company financial reporting, compliance, forecasting, and governance requirements.
  • Support the financial management of internally funded research and development (IRAD) initiatives, product investments, and manufacturing operations.
  • Direct budgeting, forecasting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), cost accounting, and long-range financial modeling activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable FAR, CAS, DCAA, and government contracting regulations and requirements.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for month-end and year-end close activities, financial reporting, audits, indirect rate structures, and cost accounting standards.
  • Lead future ERP transitions.
  • Support pricing strategies, product investment decisions, manufacturing efficiency initiatives, contract negotiations, and other strategic business activities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Program Management, Contracts, Operations, Product Management, Engineering leadership, Manufacturing leadership, Human Resources, and executive leadership to support business performance and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead interactions with external auditors, DCAA auditors, banking partners, and other financial stakeholders.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls, policies, procedures, and financial best practices to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Analyze financial and operational data, identify trends and risks, and provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Present financial results, business insights, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to executive management in a clear and persuasive manner.
  • Mentor, develop, and manage finance and accounting staff, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within finance operations, systems, reporting capabilities, and business processes.
  • Perform other leadership responsibilities associated with this position as appropriate.
Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
  • Expertise in manufacturing accounting, product-based business models, and project-based cost accounting principles
  • Significant experience in government contracting finance and accounting environments
  • Strong knowledge of FAR, CAS, DCAA compliance requirements, and government contractor accounting practices
  • Demonstrated experience leading finance teams and partnering with executive leadership
  • Experience supporting organizations with complex cross-functional operations involving product development, engineering, manufacturing, and sales
  • Advanced financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning capabilities
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate financial data into operational and strategic recommendations
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
  • Experience implementing and improving financial systems, controls, and processes
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting critical deadlines
  • Eligible for U.S. Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification
  • MBA or Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Experience with Microsoft SL or similar ERP/accounting systems
  • Experience managing ERP conversion and transition initiatives
  • Experience leading DCAA audits and government compliance reviews
  • Experience supporting IRAD-heavy organizations and product lifecycle financial management
  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, defense, or technology-focused organizations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
  • Experience supporting executive leadership in strategic growth initiatives, acquisitions, or scaling operations
