About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Dosimetrist to join a leading oncology treatment team in Utah, USA. This position is ideal for professionals with extensive expertise in radiation treatment planning, dose calculation, and advanced oncology software systems.

As a Medical Dosimetrist, you will play a critical role in the cancer treatment process by developing precise and effective radiation treatment plans that maximize tumor control while minimizing exposure to surrounding healthy tissues. Working collaboratively with Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, and Radiation Therapists, you will contribute to delivering high-quality, patient-centered cancer care using advanced treatment planning technologies.

What You'll Do
  • Design and develop accurate, effective, and individualized radiation treatment plans based on physician prescriptions and clinical objectives.
  • Perform complex radiation dose calculations and treatment plan optimization to ensure treatment efficacy and patient safety.
  • Utilize CT, MRI, and PET imaging datasets to perform image fusion and registration for treatment planning purposes.
  • Assist with patient simulations, tumor localization, and immobilization device planning.
  • Collaborate closely with Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, and Radiation Therapists throughout the treatment planning process.
  • Review treatment plans to ensure compliance with clinical protocols, quality standards, and radiation safety guidelines.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives within the radiation oncology department.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and treatment planning records.
  • Stay current with advancements in radiation oncology through continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Support departmental goals by contributing to process improvements and best practices in treatment planning.
QualificationsRequired Certifications & Credentials
  • Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) credential in good standing.
Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional Medical Dosimetry experience in a radiation oncology setting.
  • Demonstrated experience creating complex radiation treatment plans for a variety of cancer diagnoses.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary oncology team environment.
Technical Skills & System Experience

Required

  • Strong experience with Eclipse Treatment Planning System (TPS).
  • Strong experience with ARIA Oncology Information System.
  • Proficiency in radiation dose calculation, plan optimization, and treatment planning workflows.
  • Experience utilizing CT, MRI, and PET imaging datasets for treatment planning and image registration.

Preferred

  • Experience with RayStation Treatment Planning System.
  • Experience with Elements software solutions.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to solve complex treatment planning challenges.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to treatment accuracy and patient safety.
  • Strong understanding of radiation oncology principles, anatomy, imaging, and dosimetric calculations.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills when working with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to team-based patient care.
