This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior HR Generalist based in the United States.
This is an impactful opportunity for an experienced HR professional to support employees, strengthen workplace relationships, and drive people-focused initiatives within a dynamic operational environment. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to employees, managers, and leadership while managing key areas including employee relations, labor relations, recruitment, compliance, and performance management. You'll play a critical role in fostering a positive workplace culture, improving employee engagement, and supporting organizational success through effective HR practices. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will help develop solutions that enhance workforce capabilities, safety, and retention. This position is ideal for an HR leader who enjoys solving complex people challenges and making a measurable impact on employee experience.
- Serve as a key point of contact for employees, managers, and union representatives, addressing workplace concerns and promoting effective employee relations.
- Support labor relations activities, including contract interpretation, grievance resolution, collective bargaining support, and compliance with labor agreements.
- Partner with leaders on performance management processes, employee development plans, investigations, policy enforcement, and disciplinary actions.
- Support full-cycle recruitment activities, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, coordinating hiring processes, and onboarding new employees.
- Manage and support HR initiatives related to benefits, compensation, training, employee engagement, leave administration, and workforce development.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations, particularly within a unionized operational environment.
- Analyze HR metrics and generate reports to provide data-driven insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Administer HRIS processes, maintain accurate employee records, and support improvements to HR systems and workflows.
- Collaborate with safety teams on workplace safety initiatives, workers’ compensation matters, return-to-work processes, and reasonable accommodation assessments.
- Identify training needs and help deliver employee development programs that support organizational goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Previous experience working in a human resources role with exposure to employee relations, compliance, and workforce management.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or operational environments is strongly preferred.
- General knowledge of employment laws, labor regulations, and HR best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust with employees, managers, and union representatives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities with strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Experience handling confidential information with professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms (preferably UKG) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work primarily on-site at the facility, with limited opportunities for remote work.
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field is preferred.
- 5+ years of HR experience, experience with union contracts, employee investigations, labor negotiations, or unionized manufacturing environments are considered advantages.
- PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification is preferred.
- Competitive salary range of $88,054 - $140,655, based on qualifications, experience, location, and market factors.
