Electrical Systems Solutions Engineer

Location: Columbus, OH
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Starting Salary: From $100,000 annually, with higher compensation available depending on experience.

Position Summary

We are hiring an experienced Electrical Systems Solutions Engineer to provide technical support for electrical power distribution equipment used in data centers and other mission-critical facilities. This position works with customers and internal teams to develop engineered solutions, prepare technical documentation, and provide support from project planning through installation and startup.

This role is ideal for an engineer with experience supporting electrical power systems in customer-facing environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with sales, engineering, and operations teams to develop application solutions that meet customer and project requirements.
  • Prepare technical proposals, engineering submittals, project documentation, and other customer support materials.
  • Support projects through design, order processing, manufacturing, delivery, installation, commissioning, and startup.
  • Create, review, and revise technical drawings, engineering documents, specifications, and compliance records.
  • Provide technical guidance for electrical distribution systems and critical power equipment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting during installation, startup, commissioning, and field operation.
  • Deliver product presentations, application guidance, and technical training for customers and business partners.
  • Participate in product validation, application testing, and competitive product evaluations.
  • Collect customer feedback and work with internal teams to recommend product enhancements.
  • Travel to customer sites and project locations as needed, approximately 25% to 35%.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in applications engineering, design engineering, or field engineering supporting electrical power systems or data center infrastructure.
  • At least 2 years of experience using AutoCAD for engineering design and technical drafting.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution equipment, including:
    • Switchboards
    • Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
    • Static Transfer Switches (STS)
    • Redundancy strategies such as N+1 and 2N architectures
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically as required.
