As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will take ownership of designing, developing, and improving backend services that support core product capabilities. You will contribute to scalable architecture decisions, API development, system reliability, and cross-functional delivery while maintaining high standards for code quality and performance.

• Design and build scalable, data-intensive REST APIs that support customer-facing applications and external integrations.
• Develop and maintain backend services using modern technologies, ensuring reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, QA teams, and product stakeholders to deliver complete, high-quality features.
• Translate product requirements into clear technical solutions, architecture decisions, and implementation plans.
• Write and maintain automated tests, including unit and integration tests, to ensure system stability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards around performance, quality, and best practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for APIs, data models, and backend workflows.
• Improve existing APIs through optimization, versioning, and backward-compatible enhancements.
• Design and refine data models based on evolving product requirements.
• Identify and resolve performance, scalability, and data integrity challenges within backend systems.
• Support external partners and agencies by providing guidance on API integrations and platform capabilities.
• Promote a customer-focused engineering culture centered on consistency, usability, and quality.

The ideal candidate is an experienced backend engineer with a strong understanding of scalable application development, cloud infrastructure, and API design. You should have a product-oriented mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to independently manage technical initiatives while collaborating with multiple teams.

• Proven experience building and maintaining backend systems in a production SaaS environment.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and asynchronous programming patterns.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js and backend frameworks such as Express or Fastify.
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting REST APIs at scale.
• Experience working with AWS cloud services, including Aurora, DynamoDB, and Lambda.
• Strong knowledge of database concepts, including relational databases and SQL optimization.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and integration testing practices.
• Ability to write efficient, maintainable, and secure backend code.
• Strong ownership mindset with attention to reliability, performance, and technical quality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and QA teams.
