1st Shift Production Supervisor in Grand Rapids, Michigan at Progressive Surface, Inc

As a 1st Shift Production Supervisor at Progressive Surface, you will play a crucial role in overseeing our manufacturing operations to ensure efficiency, quality, & safety. You will be responsible for managing a team of production workers & coordinating production schedules to meet customer demands & organizational goals.

• Commissions & stages material for production.
• Verifies all production machine setups & work instructions are followed
• Maintain safe & organized operations
• Proficient in all production and quality tasks
• Monitor inventory levels for raw material & communicate needs prior to any shortages
• Works closely with all aspects of manufacturing, ensuring support of meeting labor standards, quality standards, & adherence to manufacturing specifications
• Provides team members daily workstation assignments
• Directs & coordinates maintenance activities
• Supports a culture of Lean continuous improvement seeking to minimize waste
• Assists with performance evaluations, training / coaching, tracking attendance, & administering company policies.

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Previous leadership experience preferred. Must be able to demonstrate positive, professional behavior at all times.
• Ability to work within team environment required.
• Good verbal & written communication skills.
• Ability to use computer & scanning equipment.
• Manufacturing procedure background.
• Ability to read & understand work instructions & quality procedures & other instructional material printed in English preferred.
• Ability to help drive culture change through support of lean manufacturing principles
