This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Exadata Database Administrator based in India.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Oracle database professional to manage and optimize mission-critical database environments supporting enterprise applications. In this role, you will oversee Exadata infrastructure, lead database migration and modernization initiatives, and ensure the performance, availability, and security of production systems. Working in a fully remote environment, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-performance database solutions across on-premises and cloud platforms. The position offers the chance to contribute to complex infrastructure projects while driving automation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement in enterprise database management.
As an Exadata Database Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining highly available Oracle database environments while leading migration, optimization, and infrastructure initiatives. You will ensure reliable database operations, implement best practices, and support modernization efforts across hybrid environments.
- Administer and maintain Oracle Exadata infrastructure, including storage cells, compute nodes, ASM, and InfiniBand networking.
- Perform system health checks, capacity planning, patch management, performance tuning, and proactive issue resolution.
- Lead end-to-end database migration projects to Exadata, including planning, execution, validation, and post-migration optimization.
- Execute Oracle database upgrades, patching activities, and maintenance for Grid Infrastructure and RDBMS environments.
- Manage database cloning, environment refreshes, and automation using RMAN, Data Guard, snapshots, and storage-level technologies.
- Design and optimize Exadata VM layouts while collaborating with infrastructure teams on storage, networking, and resource allocation.
- Support hybrid infrastructure deployments involving on-premises Exadata and cloud environments.
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, security, and high-availability strategies using Oracle best practices.
- Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and runbooks.
- Participate in production support activities, including on-call responsibilities for critical systems.
The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Oracle database administration, Exadata platforms, and enterprise database operations. You should possess hands-on experience with database performance optimization, migrations, automation, and cloud technologies while demonstrating excellent analytical and collaboration skills.
- 5+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
- Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience managing Oracle Exadata environments.
- Strong expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, and Oracle database performance tuning.
- Proven experience leading database migration, upgrade, and large-scale environment management projects.
- Solid understanding of Linux administration for Oracle workloads.
- Experience with database cloning, refresh automation, and operational optimization.
- Knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite (R12) administration is preferred.
- Experience with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, and S3 is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including Exadata Cloud Service, DB Systems, and Object Storage.
- Experience with OEDA, KVM virtualization, Exadata capacity planning, and high-availability architectures.
- Scripting experience using Shell, Python, Ansible, or similar automation tools.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
