The Customer Services Representative (Verification of Benefits) will play an essential role in supporting patients and healthcare partners by providing accurate information and resolving billing-related questions.

Accountabilities:

The Customer Services Representative (Verification of Benefits) is responsible for managing patient and stakeholder inquiries related to billing, insurance verification, and revenue cycle processes. This role requires delivering accurate information, resolving concerns efficiently, and maintaining a high standard of customer service.

  • Handle inbound calls from patients, attorneys, insurance providers, and other stakeholders to address questions and resolve billing-related issues.
  • Clearly communicate revenue cycle processes, insurance information, and account outcomes while ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Apply knowledge of healthcare insurance terminology, payer requirements, and applicable regulations to support accurate responses.
  • Assist callers by researching issues, identifying solutions, and escalating matters when necessary.
  • Follow established customer service policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Manage multiple tasks while maintaining productivity, accuracy, and service excellence.
  • Support additional departmental responsibilities and operational needs as assigned.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a customer-focused professional with experience in healthcare services, insurance support, or call center environments. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn quickly are essential for success in this role.

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of related healthcare, insurance, or call center experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of medical insurance terminology and healthcare revenue cycle processes.
  • Ability to quickly learn department procedures, systems, and customer service standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent listening abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet productivity and quality objectives.
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and professional with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while maintaining communication and accountability.
  • Ability to understand and apply payer rules, regulations, and client-specific information.
