About The Role

As a Night Auditor in our 40 Front Desk department, you will be responsible for overseeing the property’s overnight front desk operations while accurately balancing and closing the day’s financial activity. This hourly, part-time position requires strong attention to detail, a high level of reliability, and the ability to work independently during late-night and early-morning hours. You will serve as the primary contact for guests during your shift, ensuring their safety, comfort, and satisfaction, while also completing critical accounting, reporting, and system reconciliation tasks that support the hotel’s overall financial integrity.

What You'll Do

  • Perform nightly audit and reconciliation of all daily hotel transactions, including room charges, payments, and adjustments
  • Balance and verify front desk, food and beverage, and other outlet revenues against supporting documentation
  • Run and review end-of-day reports, identify discrepancies, and resolve or document issues for management follow-up
  • Close and roll the date in the property management system (PMS) and related systems according to established procedures
  • Process credit card batches, verify authorization and settlement, and follow up on any declined or irregular transactions
  • Respond to guest check-ins, check-outs, and reservation inquiries during overnight hours in a courteous, professional manner
  • Provide prompt and effective service to guest requests, questions, and concerns, escalating issues as needed
  • Monitor property access, maintain awareness of security cameras and alarms, and follow security protocols to ensure guest and staff safety
  • Perform nightly lobby and public-area walk-throughs to ensure cleanliness, safety, and readiness for the next day
  • Prepare and distribute required daily reports for management, including occupancy, revenue, and variance summaries
  • Assist with room assignments, inventory controls, and preparation for the following day’s arrivals and departures
  • Handle cash, verify cash drawers, and follow cash-handling policies for deposits, refunds, and petty cash usage
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all audit work, reports, and supporting documentation
  • Communicate effectively with the day shift and management through logbooks, email, or handoff reports
  • Support additional front desk duties such as answering phones, responding to emails, and coordinating with housekeeping or maintenance as needed

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in front desk, accounting, or night audit role in a hotel or hospitality setting preferred
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and cash-handling procedures
  • Proficiency with computers and common office software; prior experience with hotel Property Management Systems (PMS) is a plus
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to spot and resolve discrepancies
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during overnight shifts
  • Reliable and punctual, with the flexibility to work late-night, weekend, and holiday hours as required
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment when handling guest issues, safety concerns, and unexpected situations
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and courteous in a quiet or high-pressure environment
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift, carry, or move items up to approximately 25 pounds
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or training in hospitality or accounting is an asset
  • Eligibility to work in the country of employment and willingness to undergo background or reference checks as required by company policy
