The DeLong Co. is hiring a Spotter Driver at our Edgerton, KS facility — someone who can safely move trailers and shipping containers around our yard, keep equipment inspections sharp, and keep pace in a fast-moving logistics environment. This is a yard-only driving role — no CDL required, and you'll never operate on public roads.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As Spotter Driver, you'll keep trailers and containers moving safely and efficiently around our yard. Day to day, you will:
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned yard trucks each shift, reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns

  • Open and close container doors on approximately 30 containers per day
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with team members and dispatch using handheld two-way radios
  • Move trailers between dock doors, staging areas, and yard spots as directed
  • Follow all yard safety protocols and traffic patterns at all times
  • Assist with general facility cleanliness and upkeep during slower periods
  • Maintain accurate records of trailer movements as required

  • Strong attention to detail for inspections and documentation
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work extended hours during peak season (Sept-Nov), including occasional weekends
  • Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods; capable of manually opening/closing container doors throughout the shift
  • Preferred:
    • Prior yard spotter, warehouse, or equipment-operating experience
