Job Description
Kerr Controls Ltd. (Kerr) is a leading distributor of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration Equipment, and Supplies. We have an immediate opening for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and motivated Warehouse Assistant to join our team at our Distribution Center in Truro, NS for the summer season.
This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in warehouse operations and logistics while working in a fast-paced team environment. The successful candidate will support daily warehouse activities, including shipping and receiving, inventory organization, order preparation, and maintaining a safe and efficient workplace.
What you’ll do:
• Assist with receiving, sorting, and organizing incoming inventory
• Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment
• Support shipping and receiving activities
• Assist with inventory counts and warehouse organization
• Operate RF/barcode systems and other warehouse tools as required
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Perform other warehouse-related duties as assigned
What you bring to the team:
• Previous warehouse experience is considered an asset, but not required
• Forklift experience is considered an asset (training can be provided)
• Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Positive attitude and strong attention to detail
• Basic computer skills are considered an asset
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting (up to 80 lbs.)
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
