Job Description
Associated Glass is seeking a reliable and safety-focused CDL Driver to transport glass products, materials, and supplies to customer locations, job sites, and warehouse facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience handling fragile materials, operating commercial vehicles safely, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to DOT regulations, and the ability to assist with loading and unloading glass products.
This position includes a dedicated weekly 3-day delivery route requiring overnight travel. Drivers receive a daily per diem allowance and company-paid nightly hotel accommodations while on route.
Key Responsibilities
• Safely operate CDL trucks and delivery vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
• Transport glass products, storefront systems, mirrors, windows, and related materials to customer and job site locations.
• Complete a scheduled weekly 3-day delivery route with overnight travel as required. • Assist with the weekly loading of your truck and unload glass products safely and efficiently at customer locations.
• Inspect loads to ensure proper securing and safe transport of fragile materials.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate driver logs.
• Verify delivery paperwork, obtain customer signatures, and maintain accurate delivery records.
• Communicate with dispatch, warehouse personnel, and customers regarding delivery schedules and issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of company vehicles.
• Follow all safety procedures, including use of PPE and safe lifting practices.
• Represent Associated Glass professionally while interacting with customers and contractors.
Qualifications
• Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record.
• Current DOT medical card.
• Minimum 1-3 years of commercial driving experience preferred.
• Experience transporting glass or other fragile building materials preferred.
• Must be able to safely lift, carry, and handle glass products and materials.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly.
• Familiarity with load securement standards and delivery procedures.
• Strong time management and communication skills.
• Trailer mounted crane experience a plus.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and move glass and related materials throughout the workday.
• Frequent bending, lifting, climbing, and standing.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Work Environment
• Weekly 3-day route with overnight travel.
• Company-paid hotel accommodations provided during route travel.
• Daily per diem provided while traveling.
• Warehouse, construction site, and customer-facing environments.
• Early morning starts and occasional overtime may be required.
