This role sits at the core of building and scaling high-performance backend platforms that power large-scale distributed systems used by multiple engineering teams. You will design and operate the foundational infrastructure that enables reliable request routing, event processing, and asynchronous workloads across high-throughput environments. The work is deeply technical, focusing on latency-sensitive systems, fault tolerance, and platform scalability at enterprise scale. You will contribute to shared services and internal developer platforms that significantly improve engineering velocity and system reliability. Operating in a highly collaborative environment, you will partner with infrastructure, SRE, and product engineering teams to define standards and ensure operational excellence. • Design, build, and evolve high-throughput backend platform services and shared infrastructure used across multiple engineering teams, ensuring scalability, reliability, and strong developer experience.
• Architect and implement distributed systems components including event-driven pipelines, caching layers, request routing, and asynchronous processing systems.
• Develop platform abstractions, SDKs, and reusable libraries that standardize engineering practices and accelerate product development.
• Define and enforce platform-wide standards around APIs, system design, observability, SLOs, and operational best practices.
• Lead performance optimization efforts, including profiling systems, improving throughput, reducing latency, and managing capacity planning.
• Drive incident response, root cause analysis, and long-term reliability improvements through blameless postmortems and engineering follow-ups.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with SRE, infrastructure, security, and product teams to ensure robust, secure, and compliant platform operations.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of backend or platform engineering experience, with strong exposure to distributed systems at scale.
• Proven experience building internal platforms or shared services consumed by multiple engineering teams.
• Strong programming skills in one or more backend languages such as Java, Go, Scala, Rust, or C++.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems principles including consistency, fault tolerance, scalability, and latency optimization.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and streaming systems such as Kafka, Pulsar, or similar technologies.
• Solid knowledge of databases across relational, NoSQL, and search-based systems.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to write clear technical documentation and lead architectural discussions.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and contribute to technical leadership in platform environments.
