Job Overview
The Dental Assistant reports directly to the Office Manager. The primary mission of the Dental Assistant is to provide exceptional patient care, facilitate patient understanding of proposed treatments, and deliver seamless chairside assistance to the dentist. By building strong patient relationships and optimizing clinical workflows, the Dental Assistant plays a vital role in increasing office efficiency and doctor production.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Education
- Patient Comfort: Welcome and seat patients while ensuring a comfortable, positive clinical experience.
- Intake & Vitals: Update comprehensive health histories and accurately capture patient vital signs.
- Treatment Education: Educate patients on dental procedures, post-op care, and oral health.
Clinical & Chairside Support
- Procedure Prep: Fully prepare treatment rooms and clinical trays before the dentist enters.
- Chairside Assisting: Provide dynamic four-handed dentistry for a wide variety of dental procedures.
- Diagnostics & Labs: Take high-quality digital X-rays, capture impressions, and perform lab work.
- Expanded Functions: Perform allowed independent tasks (e.g., seating crowns, adjusting dentures, applying fluoride).
Facility & Materials Management
- Sanitation: Sterilize clinical instruments and strictly adhere to infection control protocols.
- Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, order clinical supplies, and stock treatment rooms.
- Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance and upkeep on all dental equipment.
