Description:

The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations, maintaining high standards of patient care and customer service, and supporting efficient workflow operations. This role services as the designated Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) and provides direct supervision and leadership to pharmacy staff.

The Pharmacy Manager is expected to foster a positive team environment, support operational and financial goals, and ensure the pharmacy operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Pharmacy Operations & Compliance

  • Serve as the designated Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and professional standards
  • Maintain all required pharmacy licenses, records, and documentation.
  • Oversee controlled substance management, inventory controls, storage requirements, and recordkeeping.
  • Ensure prescription accuracy and safe dispensing practices.
  • Address and resolve medication-related issues, patient concerns, and operational challenges promptly and professionally.
  • Provide patient counseling and professional pharmacy services in accordance with applicable standards of practice.

Leadership & Staff Oversight

  • Supervise and support pharmacy staff.
  • Provide coaching, training, direction, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Assist with workflow coordination to maintain operational efficiency and patient service standards.
  • Foster a collaborative, respectful, and customer-focused work environment.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, performance management, and development of pharmacy staff.

Community Engagement & Relationship Building

  • Foster positive relationships within the local community through professional involvement and customer engagement.
  • Serve as a trusted healthcare resource for patients and community members.
  • Support and participate in community events, health initiatives, and pharmacy-related outreach activities when applicable.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local providers, healthcare partners, and patients to support the pharmacy’s presence within the community.
  • Promote a welcoming, service-oriented environment that reflects the company’s values and commitment to patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Active State of Montana pharmacist license in good standing.
  • Ability to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) under state regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, pharmacy law, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
