Job Description

Head of Finance

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Head of Finance based in Ireland.

This is a high-impact leadership role for a finance professional ready to shape and scale the financial backbone of a fast-growing, consumer-focused digital business. You will act as the first in-house finance leader, responsible for building structure, rigor, and strategic clarity across all financial operations. Beyond managing reporting and compliance, you will evolve the function into a proactive strategic partner that informs decision-making at the highest level. Working directly with executive leadership, you will influence key business decisions around growth, profitability, and investment priorities. The role combines hands-on financial management with long-term planning, requiring both operational precision and strategic thinking. It is an opportunity to design finance systems from the ground up in a high-growth, remote-first environment. Your work will directly support scaling the business sustainably while ensuring financial transparency and control.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic planning, including growth projections, scenario modeling, headcount planning, and cash flow management.
  • Own budgeting processes and ensure leadership has clear visibility into financial tradeoffs, risks, and performance drivers.
  • Maintain investor-ready financial models, reporting structures, and board materials to support fundraising and strategic discussions.
  • Oversee inventory accounting, cost controls, and reconciliation processes across revenue, expenses, cash flow, and COGS.
  • Strengthen financial visibility into profitability, margins, and unit economics while ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Establish robust financial controls, audit-ready processes, and reliable month-end close procedures in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Partner cross-functionally with department leaders to align budgets, monitor spend, and improve financial decision-making.
  • Develop contingency and scenario planning frameworks (“Plan B / Plan C”) to support business resilience in changing market conditions.
  • Serve as the organization’s financial “source of truth,” consolidating and standardizing financial data and reporting systems.
Requirements:
  • 5–10+ years of experience in finance, FP&A, accounting, or operational finance roles, ideally in high-growth or startup environments.
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning.
  • Proven experience managing inventory-heavy or product-based financial operations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and experience with ERP/accounting systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Sage.
  • Strong accounting foundation, with CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • Ability to balance strategic advisory responsibilities with hands-on financial execution.
  • Strong systems-thinking mindset with the ability to improve processes, not just outputs.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to challenge assumptions and influence executive decisions constructively.
  • Experience in e-commerce, collectibles, or other inventory-driven industries is a plus.
Benefits:
  • Fully remote, full-time leadership role with high autonomy.
  • Opportunity to build and define the finance function from the ground up.
  • Direct exposure to executive leadership and strategic decision-making.
  • High-impact role influencing company growth, profitability, and long-term financial health.
  • Work in a fast-scaling, innovative, consumer-focused digital environment.
  • Competitive compensation package aligned with senior leadership responsibilities.
  • Opportunity to implement systems, tools, and processes that shape long-term scalability.
