Position Overview
The Senior Project Manager – Industrial Construction is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, execution, and financial performance of complex industrial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This individual will serve as the primary point of leadership for project teams, owners, consultants, and subcontractors while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with DELCO quality standards.
The ideal candidate will possess strong experience managing industrial and manufacturing projects, including facilities with complex mechanical, electrical, and process systems, while demonstrating exceptional leadership, communication, and operational expertise.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead all phases of industrial construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, manpower planning, and cost forecasting.
• Provide leadership and direction to project teams including Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, and field personnel.
• Coordinate with Preconstruction, Operations, Owners, Design Teams, and subcontractors to ensure successful project execution.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, buyout, contract negotiations, and scope management.
• Manage project financials including cost tracking, forecasting, billing, contingency management, and profitability.
• Proactively identify and mitigate project risks while driving schedule and budget performance.
• Manage and oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement tracking, and project documentation.
• Maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication, accountability, and problem resolution.
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards, contract requirements, quality expectations, and company policies.
• Participate in strategic planning and operational discussions related to project execution and resource planning.
• Mentor and develop junior project management staff and support team growth initiatives.
• Support successful project turnover, commissioning, punch list completion, and final documentation processes.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of experience managing large-scale commercial and/or industrial construction projects.
• Strong industrial construction experience required, including manufacturing facilities, processing facilities, distribution centers, automotive, heavy industrial, or similar complex project types.
• Experience managing projects involving complex MEP systems and coordination strongly preferred.
• Proven experience leading projects with multiple stakeholders, subcontractors, and fast-paced schedules.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control principles.
• Demonstrated success managing client relationships and leading project teams.
• Proficiency with construction management software, scheduling platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• OSHA knowledge and strong safety leadership mindset required.

• Ability to travel to project sites as required throughout the Southeast.
• Ability to walk active construction sites and navigate uneven terrain.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
