INTRODUCTION:
Tomarco Contractor Specialties LLP (DBA ISAT Total Support) is seeking an experienced Lead Design Engineer (P.E.) to join our growing engineering team. This senior-level role requires advanced seismic design experience, technical leadership, and the ability to manage complex engineering tasks while supporting companywide engineering initiatives.
You will play a key role in developing high-quality design solutions, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with project managers, sales teams, and customers to ensure project success.

POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a high-impact leadership role offering the opportunity to contribute to innovative engineering solutions, process improvements, and the continued growth of ISAT’s engineering department.
Primary Responsibilities:
Your role will encompass the following duties and responsibilities, but is not limited to:
- Serve as a senior technical resource within the Capitol Projects Group, providing leadership and advanced engineering support across assigned projects.
- Independently develop seismic bracing layouts in accordance with ISAT design standards, IBC, CBC, UFC, ASCE, and other applicable codes.
- Prepare and stamp complete engineering submittal packages, including legends, calculations, point load summaries, coordinated layouts, and supporting documentation in both digital and hard-copy formats.
- Apply point load charts and compute vertical dead loads and seismic loads; produce coordinated point load layouts for submission to the SEOR.
- Perform kit takeoffs with accurate counts, nomenclature, and kit identification for quoting and material procurement.
- Develop and coordinate 3D models using AutoCAD and Navisworks; support BIM coordination efforts and resolve design conflicts as needed.
- Act as the primary technical contact for assigned projects, representing ISAT in technical discussions with clients, project teams, inspectors, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
- Lead technical support for quoting activities by collaborating with Sales and Branch Project Managers to define scope, evaluate engineering requirements, and assess cost impacts.
- Oversee engineering billing processes, including managing NEXUS tasks and projects to ensure accurate tracking of work in progress and alignment with purchase orders and company policies.
- Maintain organized and compliant project file structures; document technical communication, transmittals, and coordination summaries in NEXUS and electronic project folders.
- Mentor and train junior engineers, providing hands-on technical guidance, reviewing engineering work, and supporting their professional development.
- Provide expertise in specialized engineering applications such as vibration isolation, pipe stress, thermal analysis, and advanced seismic design.
- Assist in improving engineering workflows, tools, methodologies, and department standards to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Manage small to moderately complex technical projects independently, coordinating schedules, resources, and deliverables.
- Maintain advanced knowledge of ISAT products, assemblies, and applications; contribute to developing new product applications and innovative engineering solutions.
- Demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam, RISA-3D, Enercalc, MathCAD, and related engineering software platforms.
- Maintain an organized and professional work environment and safeguard company equipment and devices.
- Perform other related duties as assigned that are essential to the success of the Engineering Department.
- Apply for Professional Licensure in various states as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervisory responsibilities may include overseeing Junior or Design Engineers in the same department or group.
Qualifications
- Strong communication, analytical, and technical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and train engineering staff.
- Able to manage multiple deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced understanding of seismic design for non-structural components.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant design engineering experience in non-structural seismic applications.
- PE strongly preferred.
