Accounts Payable Manager in Fort Mill, South Carolina at Shoe Carnival

The Accounts Payable Manager oversees the organization's accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, expense reports, and vendor inquiries.

What You'll Do

• Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice receipt, coding, approval workflow, and payment processing.
• Lead a team of Accounts Payable Associates who code expenses, verify and process invoices, and issue payments.
• Ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices and other financial obligations in accordance with payment terms.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities.
• Implement and maintain procedures to minimize fraud risk and strengthen financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations, including sales and use tax requirements when applicable.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues.
• Negotiate payment terms and collaborate with procurement and business leaders as needed.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and/or 4+ years of commensurate experience; minimum 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with large-scale accounting systems such as Stampli, BI360, or Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills required.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and convey a professional image.
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams with associates at all levels.
• Efficient, detail-oriented, and positive.
• A self-starter who continually looks for ways to improve processes.
