HTI is recruiting a Field Service Technician for an international power transformer manufacturing company at their plant in the Augusta, GA area. This company offers great benefits and opportunities for growth!
Pay range: $29.00 - $40.00 / hour, depending on experience and education
Location: Waynesboro, GA (Relocation allowance is available)
Summary:
As part of the plant’s Service and After Sales Department, the Field Service Technician will install, maintain, test, and repair power transformers at customer sites. This role involves performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation tasks while adhering to strict safety protocols, including PPE use and safety procedures.
This company manufactures large power transformers for power generation, commercial buildings and industrial/manufacturing applications. Products include cast resin distribution transformers and medium and low-voltage VPI transformers.
Requirements:
MUST have recent experience performing maintenance on large power transformers, and experience in electrical diagnostics, high-voltage wiring, rigging, and field service operations.
3+ years of experience in a similar technical, engineering, or Field Service/maintenance leadership role with a power transformer manufacturing company or related industry.
Experience reading electrical schematics and transformer drawings.
Understanding of high-voltage (HV) equipment, transformer assembly, and transformer diagnostic testing standards.
Familiarity with IEEE, ANSI, IEC, and NETA testing standards.
High school diploma or GED; technical degree is preferred.
Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and good organization skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
Must be able to travel for field service work; must have good driving record
Must be self-motivated and self-directed, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
Job Duties:
Assist customers with maintenance/service, upgrades, and installation of power transformers in various field locations.
Perform testing and troubleshooting on power transformers.
Cultivate and maintain customer relationships. Conduct communication with customers via email and over the phone in a highly customer service-oriented manner.
Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for customer issues.
Develop detailed project plans and communication strategies to align customers and internal team members.
Assist with the coordination and scheduling of services with the Technical Service Manager, other Field Service Technicians, external resources, and customers to meet project timelines and quality standards.
Maintain all tools and equipment used during service calls.
Maintain detailed documentation of all work performed and parts used during installation and repairs.
Track and report all travel expenses during field service calls.
Adhere to plant and site safety requirements and policies.
