Manager, Billing Operations RCM

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Manager, Billing Operations RCM based in the United States.

This role sits at the core of revenue cycle execution, ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of end-to-end billing and reimbursement processes. You will lead critical workflows across claim submission, cash posting, and billing operations while driving measurable improvements in clean claim rates and financial performance. The position combines hands-on operational oversight with team leadership and cross-functional collaboration across clinical, finance, compliance, and market access teams. You will play a key role in strengthening billing integrity, reducing errors, and accelerating reimbursement timelines in a highly regulated healthcare environment. Success in this role requires a strong command of RCM systems, payer requirements, and revenue cycle best practices. It is a high-impact opportunity to optimize billing operations and directly influence organizational cash flow and operational excellence.

Accountabilities:

The Manager, Billing Operations RCM is responsible for overseeing daily billing execution, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across all revenue cycle functions while driving continuous improvement in performance metrics.

  • Oversee end-to-end claim processing to ensure accuracy, completeness, and payer readiness, including coding validation and submission quality control
  • Lead insurance billing and client invoicing operations, ensuring timely and accurate billing cycles and adherence to fee schedules
  • Supervise cash posting activities across multiple payment channels, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper reconciliation of accounts
  • Serve as escalation point for claim rejections, clearinghouse edits, and system errors, implementing corrective and preventive measures
  • Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA, CMS/OIG guidelines, and applicable billing regulations through audits and quality assurance processes
  • Drive process optimization and automation initiatives to reduce manual work, improve efficiency, and shorten revenue cycle timelines
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators such as Clean Claim Rate, DSO, posting accuracy, and submission timeliness
  • Provide leadership to billing teams, including coaching, performance management, and workflow standardization
Requirements

This role requires strong revenue cycle expertise, leadership experience, and deep understanding of healthcare billing operations in a high-volume, regulated environment.

  • 6+ years of progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, including billing and cash posting operations
  • 2–3+ years of leadership experience managing billing, RCM, or revenue cycle teams
  • Strong knowledge of insurance billing, client invoicing, coding workflows, and payer requirements
  • Experience with RCM platforms (e.g., Xifin, Telcor, Quadax or similar) and EDI transactions (837, 835, 270/271)
  • Proven ability to improve billing accuracy, reduce errors, and enhance operational KPIs such as clean claim rate and DSO
  • Experience working in diagnostic lab, molecular diagnostics, genetics, or similar healthcare environments is strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills with a data-driven mindset
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, or equivalent experience
