Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Childcare Provider to create a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a strong understanding of childhood development. This role involves caring for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met while promoting their growth through structured activities. We strive to create a fun and loving environment for all our children. This position is located at a long-term care facility in a locked classroom. Children will interact with the elderly residents at times for intergenerational activities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with children in a safe and stimulating environment.
- Work with the daycare Director to plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning and development.
- Provide care for infants and toddlers, including feeding, diaper changes, and nap time routines.
- Manage behavior effectively using positive reinforcement techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom or play area.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
- Ensure the safety of all children by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other childcare staff to create a cohesive team environment.
Requirements
- Experience in childcare settings such as daycare or nannying is preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development milestones.
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies to support children's social skills.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- A genuine love for working with children and fostering their growth in a positive manner.
