Job Description:

The Quality Assurance Technician will ensure all food products meet established quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The QA Technician plays a key role in verifying that production activities comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety procedures, and company policies to safeguard product integrity and protect consumer health.

Essential Functions:

-Quality, Inspection, and Testing: Perform routine in‑process, finished product, and raw material inspections. Verify metal detector, x‑ray, and other food safety equipment functionality. Conduct environmental and product sampling (microbiological, allergen, moisture, etc.). Inspect equipment and production areas for sanitation verification and GMP compliance. Monitor temperatures, calibrations, scales, and other critical control points.
-Compliance & Documentation: Accurately document inspection results, test findings, deviations, and corrective actions. Ensure compliance with GMPs, HACCP requirements, allergen control, sanitation procedures, and regulatory standards (FDA, USDA if applicable). Report nonconformances or safety concerns immediately and follow escalation protocols.
-Setting the Example: Serve as a visible role model for proper GMP behavior and food safety practices. Guide production employees on hygiene, handwashing, PPE use, and food handling expectations. Support training and communicate quality standards to team members.
-Chemical Handling: Safely handle testing chemicals, sanitation chemicals, and cleaning agents according to SDS requirements. Wear appropriate chemical‑resistant PPE when required. Ensure chemical storage and labeling procedures are followed.
-Continuous Improvement: Participate in root‑cause analysis for quality deviations. Recommend process improvements to prevent recurring issues. Assist during internal and external audits.
-Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

-Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
-Experience: 1-2 years of experience in food processing, quality assurance, or related environment.

Work Environment:

-Primarily in a food production facility, exposed to cold refrigerated environments (34Fº to 38Fº) for long periods of time.
-Exposure to cleaning chemicals and sanitizers.
-Strict adherence to GMPs, HACCP, PPE requirements (non-slip boots, gloves, hairnets, smock).
-Regular exposure to moving equipment and heavy loads—must follow all safety protocols.

Physical Demands:

-Ability to stand, walk, or perform inspections for 8–12 hours.
-Ability to lift or move up to 35–50 lbs.
-Ability to bend, reach, climb stairs, or maneuver around production equipment.
-Manual dexterity for sampling, measuring, and equipment verification.
-Visual acuity for detailed inspections (corrective lenses acceptable).
-Ability to wear all required PPE including frocks, gloves, hairnets, face shields, chemical‑resistant gear, and steel‑toe footwear.
-Comfortable working in environments with moderate noise levels
