Job Description

Senior DevOps Engineer (WebRTC/LiveKit)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer (WebRTC/LiveKit) based in Brazil.

This role is centered on building and operating high-performance, real-time infrastructure that powers next-generation WebRTC and AI-driven applications. You will take ownership of scalable cloud environments, with a strong focus on LiveKit-based systems, ensuring reliable, low-latency communication services across global users. The environment is highly technical and collaborative, combining DevOps excellence with cutting-edge real-time media and AI agent infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing CI/CD pipelines, managing infrastructure as code, and ensuring observability across complex distributed systems. A key part of your work will involve optimizing performance, reliability, and security for real-time workloads in cloud-native environments. This is a hands-on senior role where your contributions directly impact system stability, scalability, and end-user experience. The team operates in a fully remote, fast-paced, and internationally distributed setup.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, build, and scale cloud infrastructure to support real-time and WebRTC-based applications, including LiveKit environments.
  • Deploy and manage WebRTC infrastructure components such as media servers, TURN/STUN servers, and real-time communication systems.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible), and automated deployment workflows.
  • Ensure system observability through logging, monitoring, metrics, and alerting using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Datadog.
  • Manage containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring scalability and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor system performance, reliability, and security, implementing proactive incident response and mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize build, deployment, and runtime processes for real-time applications.
  • Maintain cloud infrastructure across AWS and other providers (Google Cloud or Azure), ensuring resilience and cost efficiency.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and client-facing updates, including standups and weekly demos.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps engineering with strong cloud infrastructure expertise.
  • Proven experience deploying and operating WebRTC systems, including LiveKit (self-hosted or cloud).
  • Strong understanding of real-time communication infrastructure, including media servers and TURN/STUN configuration.
  • Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • Experience working with AWS and at least one additional cloud provider (GCP or Azure).
  • Strong knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog, or CloudWatch).
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, OSI model, load balancing).
  • Experience with databases and storage systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL, and S3-based solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in distributed, real-time systems.
  • Fluent English (B2+ or higher), with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in agile environments (Scrum or Kanban).
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with strong ownership and autonomy.
Benefits:
  • Fully remote contractor role based in Latin America
  • Monthly payments in US dollars
  • 9 paid public holidays
  • 10 days of PTO after 6 months of engagement
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge WebRTC and AI real-time systems
  • Exposure to global clients and high-scale distributed infrastructure
  • Collaborative, fully remote international engineering team
  • Flexible, modern DevOps environment with strong ownership and autonomy
