Position SummaryBergen Family Center is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and relationship-focused HIPPY Home Visitor to support families with children ages 3–5. In this role, you will partner with parents to help them become their child's first teacher by delivering the nationally recognized HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters) curriculum through weekly home visits.
Using role play, coaching, and encouragement, you will help parents build confidence, strengthen parent-child relationships, and prepare children for success in school.
What You'll Do- Conduct weekly home visits using the HIPPY curriculum and role play model.
- Coach parents to confidently implement learning activities with their child.
- Foster positive parent-child interactions and promote school readiness.
- Build trusting relationships with families from diverse backgrounds.
- Connect families with community resources and provide ongoing support.
- Administer developmental screenings and family assessments.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Visit Tracker.
- Participate in reflective supervision, staff meetings, and required trainings.
- Encourage participation in workshops, family events, and HIPPY group meetings.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve program goals and improve outcomes for children and families.
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working with children and families or in a human services setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends to accommodate family schedules.
Preferred
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services, Social Work, or a related field.
- Experience with home visiting, parent education, or early childhood programs.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Passion for supporting children and families.
- Ability to build trusting relationships.
- Strong coaching and communication skills.
