Repair Technician in Flora Vista, New Mexico at Oil and Gas Equipment Corporation

Job Summary: The Repair Shop Technician is responsible for inspecting and repairing valves, pumps, and other small engines. This includes refurbishing used items, accurately diagnosing repair needs, and delivering high-quality repair services for both in-house and customer needs.

Work Environment: Work is performed in a warehouse/industrial retail location. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles in an environment that can range from quiet to loud.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, refurbish, and repair valves, pumps, and small engines including chainsaws, weed eaters, and similar equipment.
• Maintain a working knowledge of items that we service, earning additional training credentials as needed.
• Conduct extensive diagnostic procedures to determine the causes of technical problems and provide accurate repair recommendations.
• Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and safely.
• Maintain legible and accurate paperwork for both the customer and for our records.
• Clean and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.
• Communicate with personnel from multiple departments to best serve our customers and ensure smooth operations.

Experience, Education and Certifications Desired:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Mechanical skills with knowledge of small engine systems preferred
• Proficient in using hand tools and power tools
• STIHL Silver Certification preferred- must be obtained within one year of hire if not qualified.
