This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Commercial & IP Litigator — Partnership Track in United States.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced litigator seeking sophisticated legal work, meaningful client relationships, and a clear path to partnership within a collaborative boutique environment. In this role, you will manage complex commercial and intellectual property disputes involving both domestic and international matters across federal and state courts. You will work closely with clients on high-impact litigation strategies while maintaining significant autonomy and direct responsibility throughout the full case lifecycle. The position is ideal for attorneys who value both rigorous legal practice and a sustainable work-life balance within a flexible remote setting. You will engage in challenging cross-border disputes, IP litigation, and strategic business matters while contributing to the long-term growth and leadership of a growing practice. This role offers strong advancement potential, high-level client exposure, and the opportunity to shape the future direction of a dynamic legal team.

Accountabilities:
  • Manage complex commercial litigation matters involving business disputes, contract claims, and high-value civil litigation across federal and state courts.
  • Handle intellectual property disputes including patent and trademark litigation matters from initial filings through resolution.
  • Lead full-cycle litigation management including pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions, hearings, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
  • Advise clients on cross-border legal disputes involving international discovery, Hague Convention procedures, and enforcement of foreign judgments.
  • Develop litigation strategies, legal arguments, and case assessments while maintaining direct communication and trusted relationships with clients.
  • Conduct advanced legal research, prepare persuasive written submissions, and deliver strong oral advocacy in court proceedings and negotiations.
  • Independently manage multiple complex matters while maintaining high-quality legal work and meeting case deadlines efficiently.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on strategic legal initiatives and contribute to the continued growth and development of the practice.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 15 years of civil litigation experience with a strong background in commercial disputes and complex litigation matters.
  • Active California Bar membership in good standing required. Admission to the Northern and/or Central District of California is also required.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills with the ability to independently manage sophisticated litigation matters.
  • Strong academic credentials and demonstrated success handling high-level litigation work in federal and state court environments.
  • Experience with intellectual property litigation, including patent or trademark disputes, is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with cross-border litigation matters, international legal procedures, or foreign judgment enforcement is considered a significant advantage.
  • Ability to thrive in a remote and collaborative work environment while maintaining accountability and responsiveness.
  • Additional bar admissions in jurisdictions such as New York, Texas, or Washington D.C. are considered a plus.
  • Federal clerkship experience, Mandarin fluency, or experience working with international clients is highly valued.
  • Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to balance high-quality work with efficient workload management.

Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary starting at $150,000 annually, with compensation adjusted based on experience and seniority.
  • Transparent performance-based bonus structure with significant upside tied to billable hours above target thresholds.
  • Clear and genuine partnership-track opportunity with long-term leadership and equity growth potential.
  • Primarily remote work arrangement offering flexibility and strong work-life balance.
  • Opportunity to work on sophisticated commercial and intellectual property disputes with international dimensions.
  • Lower annual billable target of approximately 1,200 hours to support sustainable legal practice.
  • Direct client interaction and meaningful responsibility from day one.
  • Collaborative boutique environment focused on professional autonomy, high-quality work, and long-term career development.
  • Exposure to cross-border litigation matters and complex international legal issues.
