CALIBRE Systems, inc., an employee-owned, mission focused solutions and digital transformation company is seeking candidates for a Director, Readiness and Acquisition Solutions position, supporting our Defense Division.

Directorate is one of CALIBRE’s largest Directorates serving a diverse set of Defense clients in the continental United States and in a variety of overseas locations. The RAS Directorate provides broad support in a variety of logistics disciplines that include developing and fielding business and IT tools, business and logistics analysis, sustainment design, platform instruction at logistics institutions, and supply chain optimization. This position reports directly to the Vice President of the Defense Division.

The successful candidate’s primary duty will be to manage a growing business. He or she will provide outstanding leadership to a geographically dispersed workforce, including subcontractors and consultants, management for a number of mature programs, and leveraging those programs for adjacent growth. The Director will be responsible for applying Profit & Loss (P&L) management principles and inculcating a P&L culture into the directorate. He or she will be responsible for working closely with current and potential clients to define strategic and tactical priorities, marshal and organize CALIBRE and subcontractor resources to achieve these priorities, provide overall project and program oversight, and achieving revenue and fee goals through the efficient execution at the individual project level. The Director will also be responsible for positioning efforts to include shaping discussions, preparation of white papers and other business sustainment and growth activities that identify new opportunities that expand and diversify the Directorate’s portfolio.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Meeting Balanced Scorecard (BSC) objectives as determined by Division Vice President.

· Identifying new opportunities for future growth of the Directorate.

· Participating in internal management activities at the Division and Corporate level.

· Providing leadership for and supervising staff responsible for managing projects and tasks ensuring the delivery of high-quality, responsive products.

· Serving as a trusted advisor to senior government clients.

· Working with a centralized proposal and project management organization, as appropriate, to develop high-quality proposals.

· Recruit, hire, develop and maintain Directorate staff.

· Ensuring continuous lateral communication across other RAS and external division directorates.

· Participating in corporate quality assurance efforts to include CMMI and ISO 9001.

· Must be able to travel up to 10%.

Initially, internal candidates will only be considered. Outside candidates will be considered if an internal candidate is not identified.


Required Skills:

The ideal candidate will have:

· Have or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance at a minimum.

· Must be able to pass a personal background check.

· 10 or more years of government service or Federal contracting experience.

· Six or more years of project/program management experience.

· Prior work experience in assessing, developing and implementing logistics operations for government clients with logistics missions.

· Experience in developing business leads and opportunities and writing/directing proposals.

· Substantive knowledge of the logistics lifecycle functions, technology, and issues associated with government logistics operations.

· Strong program management skills and the demonstrated ability to simultaneously direct or oversee multiple, complex projects as a single business enterprise.

· Strong leadership skills and the ability to uphold CALIBRE first principles, management processes, and human resource requirements. Must be able to make hard resourcing decisions, including human resourcing decisions.

· Knowledge and experience in government contracting including the development and administration of budgets.

· In-depth problem solving and resource integration abilities.

· Ability to gather, organize, and present information for data calls in a thoughtful manner.

· Ability to understand the business environment and establish a viable business pipeline.

· Ability to apply extensive executive skills in establishing and maintaining successful working relationships with clients, corporate officers, other directors, project managers, staff and other business enterprises and partners.

· Must possess high quality and effective oral and written communication skills.


  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent level of experience. Master’s degree preferred. (Other education, commensurate experience and demonstrated ability of individual may be substituted.)
  • 7-10+ years experience
