Position SummaryWoodholme Gastroenterology is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our ambulatory care team. The Medical Assistant plays an essential role in supporting providers, promoting efficient patient flow, and delivering high-quality clinical and administrative support. This position is key to ensuring a positive patient experience while upholding standards of quality, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Assist providers before, during, and after patient examinations and procedures.
- Prepare examination and treatment rooms by ensuring equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and properly organized.
- Obtain and document patient histories, chief complaints, and other relevant clinical information.
- Perform routine clinical duties, including obtaining and recording vital signs, height, weight, blood pressure, specimen collection, and administering injections as appropriate.
- Support efficient patient flow while providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Complete administrative responsibilities including answering phones, scheduling appointments, maintaining provider schedules, ordering supplies, and performing additional office duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with physicians and members of the healthcare team to support patient safety and quality outcomes.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous Medical Assistant experience in an ambulatory care or physician practice setting preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required for designated practices.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification required for designated practices.
