Position Summary: The P&C Insurance Sales Advisor serves as a trusted resource for members and prospective members by providing personalized insurance solutions and financial guidance. This role builds relationships, identifies member needs, and recommends property and casualty insurance products while creating opportunities to connect members with relevant products and services. The ideal candidate is relationship-driven, consultative, and passionate about delivering an exceptional member experience.
Schedule: Approximately 40 hours within a Monday through Friday work week rotating Saturdays required
Travel: Up to 50% of the workweek to local branch locations to support business operations, collaboration, and member service initiatives.
Remote/Hybrid: Hybrid eligible
Responsibilities:
- Provide value-based education and consultative guidance on Westmark Insurance and Credit Union products and services through in-person interactions, inbound inquiries, and proactive outreach to members and prospective clients. Cultivate meaningful relationships by proactively generating new business through cold calling, referrals, networking, community engagement, and self-sourced lead development to identify insurance needs and recommend appropriate Property & Casualty coverage solutions.
- Cross-sell insurance products and refer members to relevant Credit Union products and services based on identified needs.
- Explain product features, benefits, coverage options, and requirements in a clear and understandable manner.
- Accurately complete insurance applications and ensure all documentation and processes comply with agency and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a high standard of quality, accuracy, and efficiency when recommending and processing insurance products and services.
- Deliver a positive and professional experience during every member interaction, regardless of the outcome of the sales conversation.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure timely follow-up on member inquiries, quotes, policy reviews, and sales opportunities.
- Assist members with service requests, problem resolution, and policy-related questions.
- Educate members on digital tools and self-service resources, including online banking, mobile applications, and other technology solutions.
- Collaborate with branch and department team members to ensure members are connected with the appropriate resources and solutions.
- Travel between Westmark branch locations as needed to support member service, business development, and relationship-building efforts.
- Ensure compliance with all Westmark policies, procedures, insurance regulations, and applicable licensing requirements.
- Participate in community outreach, networking opportunities, and Westmark-sponsored events to promote brand awareness and member engagement.
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and accountability in all interactions with members, business partners, and coworkers.
- Maintain a positive attitude, dependable attendance, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service and results.
- Stay informed on industry trends, product updates, and organizational initiatives to effectively serve members and support business goals.
- All other duties assigned by the SVP of the Virtual Branch.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Active Property and Casualty Insurance License in the State of Idaho required.
- One or more years of experience in insurance, sales, financial services, customer service, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships, identify needs, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with members in person, by phone, and through digital channels.
- Ability to travel between Westmark branch locations as needed.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are preferred but not required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required licensing, certifications, and continuing education requirements

Physical Requirements:
- Manual Dexterity and hand-eye coordination for tasks such as typing and operating office equipment.

- Occasionally lift and carry up to 15 lbs., if required for departmental tasks.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the workweek to local branch locations to support business operations, collaboration, and member service initiatives.
