  • Mentor engineers, share best practices, and promote strong engineering principles within the organization.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and support timely resolution of incidents affecting platform performance.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced backend engineer with deep expertise in financial systems, scalable architectures, and the ability to bridge Japanese market requirements with global engineering practices.

  • Native-level or JLPT N1-level Japanese proficiency with the ability to communicate professionally with regulators, vendors, and partners.
  • Business-level English proficiency with the ability to collaborate in meetings, design discussions, code reviews, and technical documentation.
  • Proven experience designing and developing complex financial systems or other high-scale transactional platforms.
  • Strong understanding of accounting concepts, ledger structures, double-entry accounting, and transaction reconciliation.
  • Experience building highly available, scalable applications handling multi-currency transactions.
  • Strong knowledge of financial APIs, market data integrations, and trade settlement processes.

  • Proficiency in at least one statically typed programming language such as Go, Rust, Java, Kotlin, C#, Scala, or C++.
  • Strong software architecture skills, including experience with domain-driven design and event-driven design.
  • Experience developing distributed systems and designing reliable backend infrastructure.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals and advanced problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote, globally distributed environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
  • Experience with Japanese financial infrastructure such as exchanges, settlement systems, banks, or fintech platforms is a plus.
