This executive leadership opportunity is designed for a strategic operations leader with deep expertise in large-scale automation, engineering project execution, and field operations management. The role oversees the successful delivery of complex warehouse automation, robotics, conveyor, and integrated systems projects across multiple regions and customer programs. You will lead cross-functional project management, estimating, and installation teams while driving operational excellence, profitability, safety, and customer satisfaction. Working closely with executive leadership, engineering, sales, supply chain, and customer support teams, this position plays a critical role in scaling project delivery capabilities and supporting long-term business growth. Accountabilities:
  • Lead and oversee the Project Management, Estimating, and Installation functions responsible for delivering large-scale automation and material handling projects across multiple customer programs and regions.
  • Define strategic direction, operational standards, governance processes, and organizational structures to improve execution consistency, scalability, and profitability.
  • Ensure successful delivery of automation, robotics, conveyor, ASRS, controls integration, and warehouse systems projects on time, within budget, and aligned with contractual requirements.
  • Drive project governance, KPI tracking, forecasting accuracy, risk mitigation, change order management, and customer acceptance processes across active project portfolios.
  • Oversee installation and field operations activities, ensuring high standards for safety, quality, productivity, commissioning coordination, and subcontractor performance.
  • Lead the estimating organization in developing accurate labor models, project costing, execution budgets, and standardized estimating methodologies.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, supply chain, operations, and customer support teams during proposal development, contract negotiations, and project execution.
  • Build and develop high-performing leadership teams while driving accountability, operational excellence, succession planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, customer safety standards, and all relevant operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Support strategic growth objectives by aligning project execution capabilities with evolving business demands and customer expectations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Operations, Business, or a related field required.
  • MBA, Master’s degree, or advanced technical education preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience managing engineering organizations, project portfolios, or complex technical operations.
  • Proven experience overseeing large-scale project execution within engineering, automation, material handling, construction, or industrial environments.
  • Strong expertise in project portfolio management, installation operations, estimating, risk management, and operational leadership.
  • Technical knowledge across engineering disciplines including mechanical, structural, electrical, and controls systems.
  • Experience with warehouse automation technologies such as robotics, ASRS, software integration, and conveyor systems is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams, managing customer relationships, and overseeing budget and financial performance responsibilities.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical problem-solving, negotiation, and executive communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project collaboration or resource management tools.
  • Ability to support project operations outside standard business hours when necessary.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 30–50%.
