- Lead and manage insurance and self-pay collection operations to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient patient billing activities across revenue cycle functions.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor best practice workflows while identifying opportunities for operational improvements and process optimization.
- Supervise billing office performance against service level agreements and key operational metrics to support high-quality revenue cycle outcomes.
- Partner with revenue cycle leadership teams to implement initiatives, improve workflows, and maintain compliance with operational standards.
- Monitor and support core revenue cycle systems and related applications, escalating system issues, workflow deviations, and improvement opportunities when necessary.
- Assist with the development and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring effective communication of operational results to leadership teams.
- Support testing, implementation, and adoption of new processes, software applications, and system enhancements across billing operations.
- Create and maintain policies, procedures, and training documentation that support standardized revenue cycle operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with analytics, education, and operational teams to enhance reporting capabilities, staff training, and overall billing efficiency.
- Travel periodically to operational centers to support activations, workflow optimization, and revenue cycle best practice initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in hospital billing, physician billing, patient financial services, or related revenue cycle operations.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience managing billing, collections, or revenue cycle teams.
- Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle processes, billing systems, patient financial operations, and workflow management.
- Ability to analyze operational performance, monitor KPIs, and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and stakeholders.
- Experience supporting software implementations, workflow testing, and operational process optimization initiatives.
- Knowledge of revenue cycle systems and healthcare operational best practices.
- Preferred certifications include Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) and EPIC Credentialing.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Competitive salary ranging from $60,151.66 to $111,886.39 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
