BASIC FUNCTION:
Inspects, tests, calibrates, and makes necessary adjustments and repairs to assembled unit to ensure that all units operate according to standards and results are correctly documented; performs all troubleshooting of units; and assists and trains testers as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Moves equipment to and from test station.
- Performs tests on assembled units.
- Sets-up and adjusts various switching mechanisms, temperature controls and other regulating devices.
- Conducts solution test, Hi-Potting, and leak tests to insure correct electrical, mechanical and refrigerator functioning.
- Tester adjust test panels to energize the machine properly depending on equipment specifications.
- Connects unit to be tested to test equipment according to specifications and activates test equipment.
- Observes operation of unit and readings on meters and gauges to determine calibration requirements or functional defects.
- Troubleshoots all equipment and makes minor adjustments and repairs.
- Charges unit with proper refrigerant based off of model requirement.
- Corrects operating malfunctions by replacing any of 100 different component parts from micro switches to compressors and remedies incorrect wiring hookups where necessary.
- Inspects equipment for missing, defective, or improperly installed parts.
- Rejects malfunctioning units and routes units to specified departments for rework or salvaging of parts as needed.
- Accurately records all test results.
OTHER DUTIES:
- Work on assembly line as needed.
- Maintains cleanliness of work area and follows safe work practice rules.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as required.
CONTACTS:
Internal: Regular (31-45%)
Contacts involve preliminary settlement of transactions of a limited controversial nature.
External: Infrequent (1-5%)
Little or no contacts.
Requirements:POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School.
Experience: Three (3) years related work experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Manual Dexterity: Work requires moderate speed and accuracy.
Physical Effort: Work requires handling average weight materials or equipment.
Working Conditions: Occasional exposure to moderately disagreeable features.
Hazards: Possibility of accidents of a minor nature requiring first aid.
