Production Trainee

$20.85 - $23.36 an hour
Innophos is seeking a Production Trainee to work in our Nashville location. The Production Trainee has the overall responsibility to support packaging units, housekeeping & janitorial efforts, train on packaging operations, and work safely, while maintaining the quality and environmental effectiveness of the departmental operations.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for supporting production unit housekeeping efforts and overall cleanliness of the employee locker rooms and administrative area in a safe and efficient manner.
- Expected to qualify and support packaging department operations, including observing and operating all equipment and instrumentation, troubleshooting, adjusting equipment, cleaning equipment, and recording data on appropriate logs and spreadsheets, as well as in the company ERP system.
- Support production operations by reprocessing material and performing other duties as assigned.
- Moves pallets, containers, and equipment, throughout a restricted space, using a forklift.
- Rotating Shift – 1st shift (6:30 am-2:30 pm), 2nd shift (2:30 pm-10:30 pm), 3rd shift (10:30 pm-6:30 am) Monday - Sunday
- Initially assigned to 1st shift for training, however will conclude training on all shifts, including weekends.
- Required to rotate between all 3 shifts – shift premium applied on 2nd and 3rd shifts
- Alternative work schedules may be required based on site business needs
- Eligible for overtime pay on hours worked that exceed 8 consecutive hours/day and 40 hours/week
- Bi-weekly paid on Friday’s
- Valid Driver's License required
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must be available to work changing/rotating shifts and schedules
- Must be computer literate
- Must be capable of learning operate a forklift
- Must be capable of accurately completing log sheets/reports, both paper and electronic, understanding written material, performing basic mathematics, and making appropriate transactions in E1
- Demonstrate knowledge of process flow description (PFD), key process control points, process description, round sheets and data sheets, analytical specifications and their control, all relevant job analyses, and appropriate troubleshooting
- Demonstration of the above knowledge includes written and oral testing and actual operation of equipment, to meet minimum standards of acceptability
- Must have a good attendance record

- Frequent bending, lifting (avg 50 lb.-max 50 lb.), and operation of moving equipment (truck, spotter, forklift)

- Able to wear a respirator (must comply with facial hair policy) and other required personal protective equipment
Wages start at $20.85/hour and may progress to higher job classifications based on qualifications, in accordance with the labor contract.
