Receptionist in Lafayette, Louisiana at Acadiana Endoscopy Center Inc

Position Summary:

Provides direct support to patients, physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. Performs work utilizing best practices for medical support professionals. Contributes to a collaborative work environment where interactions with patients and co-workers are respectful and courteous. Maintains patient privacy in conjunction with company policies, HIPAA guidelines and all relevant government regulations. Displays respectful behavior towards others.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

Patient Interaction

• Communicates professionally with patients in person to obtain and provide information for clinic and visits.

Documentation

• Enters accurate notes into patient electronic charts. Completes Gmed tasks in the gGastro medical records system in a timely manner. Ensures tasks are routinely completed and that outstanding/pending tasks are kept below 100.

Training

• Provides training to co-workers as needed. Attends training as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalency

Work Experience & Skills:

• One year work experience in a business office support role for a medical clinic or surgery/procedure center is preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and medical records information systems is preferred.
• Experienced with best practices for proper telephone etiquette.
• Must have good attention to detail.
• Customer service experience is required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Must be willing to follow directions to provide excellent patient care.
• Must be able to document information accurately in patient records.
