Job Description
Our senior living community is seeking an energetic, creative, and resident-focused Director of Life Enrichment to create meaningful experiences that enhance the quality of life for our residents.
This role leads the community’s life enrichment program by developing engaging activities, events, outings, and experiences that promote social connection, purpose, independence, and overall well-being. The Director also partners with the Director of Memory Care to support meaningful and appropriate engagement opportunities for residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and manage a creative and engaging life enrichment calendar based on resident interests, abilities, and preferences.
- Coordinate activities, events, outings, celebrations, fitness programs, educational opportunities, and community partnerships.
- Encourage resident participation and create opportunities that promote connection, purpose, and overall well-being.
- Adapt programs to meet the varying physical and cognitive abilities of residents.
- Partner with the Director of Memory Care to coordinate appropriate activities and engagement for memory care residents.
- Collaborate with nursing, dining, administration, and other departments to enhance the overall resident experience.
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and community partners.
- Coordinate and support volunteers, entertainers, and outside organizations.
- Maintain required activity calendars, participation records, and program documentation.
- Manage life enrichment supplies and resources within established guidelines and budgets.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in senior living, activities, life enrichment, recreation, education, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
- Leadership or team coordination experience preferred.
- Experience working with older adults or individuals living with dementia is a plus.
- Creative, organized, energetic, and comfortable leading group and individual activities.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and other members of the community leadership team.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and technology.
- Previous experience in senior living, education, child development, activities coordination or degree in related field is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with residents, families, and staff.
